Has anyone else noticed that the words “expert”, “insider” and “top secret” seem to be popping up a lot these days? Not only in terms of books but also in articles, self-help guides, trade secrets, industry information…you name it, it’s there. So titling this the “insider’s secret” actually feels excessively redundant-but that’s exactly what it is. A bird’s eye view from the insurance industry box seats, if you will, designed to open the door and show you what it takes to find cheap car insurance quotes online.

Those pesky little speed limits…are actually there for a reason. Strict observance of posted speed regulations does more than keep local law enforcement off your bumper, although that’s a noble cause in and of itself. It also sets the stage for safe driving practices. When you, and everyone on the road with you, is doing the speed limit, keeping a steady following distance isn’t a problem. You’re not traveling too fast to react. So not only are you getting fewer speeding tickets (which will KO your chances of finding cheap car insurance quotes), you’re also in fewer accidents.

It’s a nice little two-fer.

Go back to Driver’s Ed…and brush up on your driving skills. Driving school is all the rage in courtrooms these days, because judges believe that anyone’s driving habits can be rehabilitated with the proper time and effort. You don’t have to have a court order to sign up for a driver improvement course though. You can put yourself on the fast track to safe driving practices and shave big bucks off your car insurance quotes just by picking up the phones.

Insurance companies love safe drivers. Trust us on this one, a couple of days of driving school are more than justified by the money you’ll save in the long run on your car insurance quotes.

Just say no…to that $60,000 sports car you’ve been dreaming of if you’re having trouble finding car insurance quotes you can afford. Remember, the more accidents your car’s make and model are involved in each year (from a statistical point of view) and the more it costs to replace your car if you do total it, the more you’re going to have to pay to insure it. Period.

Cut up the credit cards…and do what you need to do to get your credit back on track. Yes, car insurance companies do look at your credit score when they’re calculating your insurance premiums. It’s not right, it’s not fair, it just is. Period. Figure out how to make your credit score work for you, and you’ll be walking in roses the next time you go shopping for cheap car insurance quotes online.
