The Coppola Keratin Treatment is one of the latest rages in awesome hair care. By infusing keratin, a natural protein, into the hair, the treatment creates a smooth, shiny and up to 95% frizz free head of hair for several weeks to months, depending on how you care for it. During treatment, the hair is coated with the keratin smoothing solution for about 20 minutes. After that, a hair iron is used to seal the treatment. Below are some helpful tips on maintaining the treatment.

Three Day Rule:

For the first three days after the treatment, you will need to keep your hair dry and straight. Don’t clip or ponytail the hair, and it is also advised that you don’t push your hair back with glasses or even behind your ears. If you do accidentally get your hair wet (hey, it rains you know!), be sure to immediately blow dry and flat iron your hair to keep the treatment from diminishing. No styling products either. After 3 days, your hair is set and ready for styling.

Coloring the Hair:

A really great time to color chemically treat your hair is just prior to having the keratin treatment done. You must wait 2-3 weeks after the treatment to apply color. Toners or demi perm colors should be done 5 days after the Coppola Keratin Treatment.

Steer Clear of Sodium Chloride:

There are specialty products like shampoos, conditioners, and replenishers that are made specifically for the aftercare of keratin treatment. The sodium chloride can UNDO your treatment. Take care in using the proper aftercare products and your hair will maintain it’s smooth manageable texture for much longer. Also, if swimming in the ocean or a chlorinated pool, wear a cap.

To Cut or Not To Cut:

The best time to get a cut is after a treatment as the hair will have a smoother texture that lays better on the head.

By following the above tips for aftercare of your Coppola Keratin Treatment, you will have no trouble maintaining a beautiful and silky smooth head of hair for months.
